WATFLOOD is a physically based, fast and robust model for computing various aspects of the water cycle. As with such models, it represents only a small part of the overall physical processes occurring in nature. The model is aimed at flood forecasting and long-term hydrologic simulation using distributed precipitation data from radar or numerical weather models. The processes modeled include interception, infiltration, evaporation, snow accumulation and ablation, interflow, recharge, baseflow, and overland and channel routing (Kouwen et al., 1993).
