Researchers of the SPACE department have contributed to a new user-interface for the well-known Dyna-CLUE model (see http://www.ivm.vu.nl/CLUE). Together with researchers of Alterra, LEI, PBL, ObjectVision, Geodan and BioIS this project developed an integrated interface for land use modeling in the EU in a project commissioned by DG Environment. The user interface is currently applied by the EU Joint Research Centre for land use assessments as an operational tool. The application of CLUE-Scanner software in policy assessment is a proof of the success of the scientific efforts underlying the development of the Dyna-CLUE model.

Scenarios simulated with the CLUEscanner application include the assessment of biofuel crop policies on EU land use, an assessment of  biodiversity policies and the analysis of spatial measures for climate change adaptation.
