(1)    负指数衰减:

下行直接辐射通量()的Kubelka-Monk方程:

 

 

式中,是总的入射辐射通量;是介质的吸收系数;是累积叶面积指数。

 

镜向光线经过一个叶片随机分布的植被冠层的衰减方程为:

 

 

式中,是依赖于叶片倾斜及太阳顶角的吸收系数、后向散射及前向散射系数的总和。

 

DeWit1965)推导出一个顶角为时太阳光斑透射的负指数函数:

 

 

式中,是太阳光斑透射的比例;其依赖于累积叶面积系数()和单位叶面积在与顶角正交的平面的投影值

 

一束辐射波穿过一个冠层照到地面的一点()上而不被吸收的概率为:

 

 

式中,是叶面积在辐射源方向的投影面积的比例;是叶密度;是辐射束在冠层中经过的路径的长度。

 

(2)    Li-Strahler间隙概率模型:

间隙概率:

 

 

式中,是路径长度;是在以冠层的基面积划分的某个冠层包络体中所有叶片的单面面积;是冠层包络体的平均厚度;是衰减系数,其值由叶片的角度分布及叶片的透射率决定。

平均间隙概率可模拟为:
