式中,B(t)是土壤的基底物质,H是酸性物质的沉积速率,W是酸雨对净基本输入率的影响,k是速率常数。

要达到土壤稳定态下可交换的基本阳离子量()与最稳定值B(t)()之间的中点所需的一半时间为:
